I have a red version of this too that I can send if you are able to convert it successfully. Thanks for your help.

@DIY_Guy The Illustrator file had no stroke, so all you were converting were fills. I have stroked the drawing and removed all the hatches and solids.

I'm not sure if that is what you wanted, but if you want the hatches back, you are going to have to add them back in yourself.

Anyway, have a look at the file and let me know if it's anything like what you were expecting.
